Boise State’s Department of Public Safety and ExtraMile Arena will host a federal law enforcement bomb threat response training in the arena from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28. This specialized training is designed to prepare emergency responders to protect the local community in the event of a threat from an improvised explosive device.
Signs will be posted notifying passers-by that this is only a training exercise. Various law enforcement emergency response vehicles will be parked in the loading zone next to ExtraMile Arena and may be visible during the training. All of the training will be conducted inside the area.
Emergency responders appreciate the opportunity to conduct simulations on campus and find the experience of training in unique buildings such as the area invaluable in preparing for the challenges of a real emergency.
Any questions or concerns can be directed to the Boise State Department of Public Safety Communications Center at (208) 426-6911.
