Shaun S. Nichols, assistant professor of history, presented “Globalization from The Ground Up: International Labor Unionism and the Transformation of Postwar U.S. Business” at the March 16 annual meeting of the Business History Conference in Cartagena, Colombia.
His presentation documented the ways in which the global labor union movement of the 1940s and 1950s helped reshape the contours of American business and political economy. In addition, Nichols organized two events for the conference in his capacity as co-chair of the conference’s Emerging Scholars Committee, including a “networking breakfast” to bring together graduate students, recent Ph.D.s and senior scholars.
