Michelle Payne, professor of English and assistant provost of academic leadership and faculty affairs, recently published “Administration, Emotional Labor and Gendered Discourses of Power: A Feminist Chair’s Mission to Make Service Matter” in Peitho: The Journal of the Coalition of Feminist Scholars in the History of Rhetoric and Composition.
It is the second essay in a special cluster on gendered service in rhetoric and writing studies that includes essays by her collaborators, Jennifer Heinert and Cassandra Phillips from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee at Waukesha, and Eileen Schell from Syracuse University.
