A retirement celebration will be held from 4–6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22 in the O’Neill Living Room of the Alumni and Friends Center. Colleagues, campus partners and friends are invited to attend and help celebrate Humphrey’s contributions to the university.

Humphrey has served in the vice president’s office since 2004, where she has played an essential leadership role in shaping business processes, policies and project development across the division. Acting as a chief of staff, she has provided oversight, coordination and strategic guidance for the division’s operations, including human resources and financial services. Her expertise and institutional knowledge have made her a trusted advisor and a cornerstone of the division’s leadership team.

“Lynn has been the constant in the vice president’s office through the years. She has been a reliable colleague, a servant leader, a friend, a moral compass, and a source of wisdom for our division,” said Jeremiah Shinn, vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “Words cannot express how much she has meant to me…and our entire team.”

Humphrey spent 13 years with the Idaho State Board of Education managing the state’s scholarship programs and higher education research grants before joining Boise State. This experience helped shape her passion for supporting students in higher education.

“As a first-generation college student, I’ve always believed in the mission and power of education to create opportunities and transform lives,” she said. “It has been an absolute privilege to serve Boise State University for more than 20 years. I’m profoundly grateful to have witnessed — and contributed to — the incredible growth and trajectory of this institution.

“I am thankful for the many talented and dedicated colleagues I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside. You are among the very best at what you do and your commitment to students and to the university’s mission is truly inspiring. The collaboration, camaraderie, and shared experiences over the years have meant so much to me. Being part of such an exceptional, supportive community has been a true gift, one I will carry with me and miss deeply.”
