College of Business and Economics hosts Western States Sales Competition

Boise State’s College of Business and Economics Dykman Professional Sales Program hosted the Western States Sales Competition March 13-14, 2025. The competition brought 10 schools from across the Western United States to apply their knowledge and skills in professional sales through team and individual competitions. The event also included networking opportunities and a sales career fair.

“We were proud to host the Western States Sales Competition and I am incredibly proud of the Boise State Professional Sales Team for their outstanding performance at competition,” said Frank Veltri, sales team advisor and director of the Dykman Family Professional Sales Program. “We extend our sincere gratitude to Dykman Electrical for their generous support, which played a vital role in making this event possible, and a heartfelt thank you to the corporate partners whose generous support made this competition possible and meaningful for our students.”

The Boise State Professional Sales team secured a fourth place finish in the team competition with team members Leslie Johnson, Samantha Wyne, David Morales and Amanda Hopkins. Utah State University placed first, Utah Valley University placed second, Colorado State University placed third. In the individual competition, Boise State’s Amanda Hopkins placed fourth.

Dykman Electrical was the primary event sponsor and an additional 12 companies sponsored the event: Motorola Solutions, Fastenal, Dexian, Sherwin-Williams, Smoke Guard, CED, Federated Insurance, Cintas, Papé, Bunzl, Insight Global, Textron Aviation and Pacific Office Automation.
