
Arthur Scarritt, Michael Kreiter and Jeff Cates from the Department of Sociology brought eight students of the Intermountain Social Research Lab to present their original research at the annual Pacific Sociological Association conference in San Francisco. Presentations included:
- “American Christian Nationalism and the Neoliberal Agenda” by Emily Woodrum
- “Object Permanence: Self-Commodification for Higher Education and Perceptions of Meaningful Autonomy” by Skyler Amos
- “The Perceived Threat of Feminism in a Masculinized Meritocratic Education System” by Victoria Zunich
- “Neoliberal Higher Education’s Employment of Precarity and Merit to Deepen Oppression” by Amelia Jobe, Danilla Kowalczuk and Niamh Winters
- “How Neoliberal Corporatization in Higher Education Affects Food Insecurity in Students” by Regan Williams
- “The Soul of Education” by Patricia Dudziak Kerr
The students will present their research on Boise State’s campus at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 9 in Multi Purpose Classroom Building Room 106. All are welcome.
