The Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Australia’s principal public service broadcaster, recently featured Boise State’s Bob Reinhardt on their radio program Sunday Extra.
Reinhardt, an associate professor of history, spoke with Sunday Extra about his public history project, the Atlas of Drowned Towns. The project documents towns and villages displaced by dam and reservoir construction throughout the American West, including parts of Idaho and Oregon.
The project has uncovered whole communities buried underwater, that exist now only in the memories, stories and artifacts that Reinhardt uncovers through his research and history jamborees.
