Burkhart shares insights on recent tariff delay

Ross Burkhart, a political science professor in the School of Public Service, recently shared his expertise and knowledge on tariffs for KIVI-TV. Burkhart discussed different aspects of tariffs, including the reasons for them and their impact on consumers and businesses.

Notably, Burkhart explained the implications of the recently delayed tariffs proposed by the Trump administration, saying, “Prices on goods that the countries have imported into the United States are likely to rise, and these tariffs are very steep—25%, so that’s a pretty substantial increase.”

The tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China would’ve taken affect recently, but the United States delayed their implementation for 30 days.
