The General Education Committee is recognizing faculty members who teach foundational courses to non-majors and is asking for submissions for University Foundations teaching award nominations. The University Foundations awards recognize the essential contribution those teaching non-majors make to the core mission of public education. The University Foundations curriculum includes not only UF 100 and UF 200 but also First Year Writing and Foundations of the Discipline courses (like Art 100 or Biology 191).
Six winners will not only receive awards from Boise State for their dedicated teaching, but will also be entered as candidates for state-wide awards from the Idaho State Board of Education. Nominate someone who deserves to be recognized for the creativity and dedication they bring to teaching a foundations course before Feb. 17, 2024.
How to Nominate
To keep the nomination process open and simple, nominations can be completed by filling out a brief two-question nomination form. Nomination letter can also be sent to UniversityFoundations@BoiseState.
Winning candidates who become nominees for a second, statewide award will be asked to provide further materials. (Such as a CV and a sample assignment) and to participate in an interview to help prepare their state-level nomination packet. View the state-wide award criteria.
