Diane Boothe, professor in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Community Engagement, gave the keynote address at Pixel’s Empowering Educators Through Innovative Language Learning International Conference in Florence, Italy, on Nov. 8, 2024.
Presenting to an international audience, Boothe spoke about the varying reasons for learning English, and best practices to promote optimal learning experiences from a global perspective. One such practice is the paradigm shift toward multilingual learners by honoring their full linguistic repertoire instead of narrowing the focus to a single language.
Boothe also presented a paper, “Navigating English Learning for Migrant and Immigrant Students in the USA” and moderated a session on innovation in language learning.
