Ready to file 2024 taxes? Get them prepared for free with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program starting in February. The VITA program is run through Boise State’s College of Business and Economics Department of Accountancy and is available to anyone making $68,000 or less annually.
VITA is staffed by IRS-certified volunteers including accounting students, faculty members, and emeriti from the College of Business and Economics, as well as members of the community and partner organizations. The program offers virtual and in-person appointments and assists with both federal and state tax returns. Boise State employees will receive their Boise State tax documents by the end of January, and VITA appointments are available starting in February. VITA volunteers prepared over 850 tax returns in 2024 and the group hopes to complete even more this year.
