Collection drive provides students with winter essentials

The second annual Warm Wishes Collection Drive, organized by the Office of Communications and Marketing, provided more than 100 mittens, gloves, hats and scarves to students at the Campus Food Pantry.

“The students were deeply grateful for these generous donations,” said Emily Hester, campus food pantry manager. “They were excited to have these as an option in the food pantry, and all of the items went fast.”

A heartwarming display of Boise State’s community spirit, the collection drive was launched during the holiday tree lighting on the Quad in December. Donation bins were placed across campus and at the annual Winter Gathering of faculty and staff. Monetary donations were also collected through a dedicated fundraising website.

On the first day of the spring 2025 semester, the mittens, gloves and hats were distributed to students at no cost from the Campus Food Pantry. The combined efforts of both years of the collection drive have resulted in more than 220 items being donated to students.
