Reminder: Telecommuting Form renewals required

Employees must fill out a new telecommuting arrangement form in the new calendar year. This applies to employees who meet any of the following criteria:

  • All classified and professional staff currently telecommuting one or more days a week.
  • Faculty who are working fully remote.
  • Employees making a new request to telecommute.

Human Resources and Workforce Strategy requests new forms each year to ensure the university is compliant with all applicable laws, regulations and taxation requirements. The deadline to submit a new or renewal telecommuting arrangement form is Jan. 31, 2025.

To stay in compliance with telecommuting agreements, both employees and supervisors must follow these guidelines:

Employees:

  • Update the form whenever there is a change in the working agreement. All forms require supervisor approval.
  • Be aware that tax, unemployment and workers’ compliance requirements can vary by state outside of Idaho.
  • Notify telecommuting@boisestate.edu of any changes to a work address.
  • Those in need of a telework accommodation under the ADA or FMLA, should contact HR at hrfmla@boisestate.edu.

Supervisors:

  • Consult with HR before approving telecommuting for existing employees or before making a telecommuting offer to new employees.
