Student publishes on artificial intelligence and data privacy

Spencer Reed, a political science undergraduate student at Boise State, published an op-ed for Idaho Capital Sun about artificial intelligence and data privacy.

In the article, which was part of an assignment for School of Public Service adjunct professor Todd Achilles’ technology policy class, Reed opined that “there are too few protections for individual privacy in the artificial intelligence marketplace.” He provides insight on the regulation challenges for AI, citing examples of facial recognition and data collection technologies.
