The new Bachelor of Science in Health Data Analytics responds to local health system leaders who note a growing need for health data analysts trained to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of medical care management.
The new degree, said Jaime Sand, associate director of student engagement and impact for the School of Public and Population Health, “will train graduates who are prepared to explore, analyze, communicate and reason with data to assist organizations in making data-driven decisions.”
The new Bachelor of Science in Exercise, Physical Activity, and Sport will prepare students to enter the workforce in technology, telehealth, business, and sport and performance analytics. The program offers online, hybrid and face-to-face courses, increasing accessibility for rural students.
Finally, the Colleges of Health Sciences, Arts and Sciences, Engineering and Education have created Idaho’s first Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. This interdisciplinary program will equip students for careers in medicine, rehabilitation, biomedical research, human resources, technology, marketing, education and more.
“We strive to develop meaningful, practical programs for students that will lead to career opportunities that help meet the needs of industries and better our communities across Idaho and the nation,” said Joelle Powers, dean of the College of Health Sciences.
