Boise State’s educator preparation programs received the 2024 Frank Murray Leadership Recognition Award at CAEPCon, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation annual conference in Washington, D.C. in September.
The award recognizes teacher preparation programs across the country that achieve accreditation with no stipulations or areas of improvement.
Katie Mathias, assessment and reporting director, and Sherry Dismuke, clinical professor and assistant dean for teacher education, led the 2023 accreditation cycle for which the award was given and accepted the award on behalf of a team of College of Education faculty and staff who provided crucial support in the accreditation process.
“This recognition honors a monumental achievement for the college, and is a testament to the excellent work Katie, Sherry and our team of experts in educator preparation performed last year,” said James Satterfield, College of Education dean. “Students who graduate from our teacher education program can be proud that they receive a degree and training from a nationally accredited program that prepares them to be the best educators they can be.”
