University celebrates progress of new campus residence hall with topping out ceremony

On Oct. 7, Boise State held a topping out ceremony for the new campus residence hall located near Albertson’s Library, which broke ground in 2023. Contractors and university representatives signed a Boise State branded beam and celebrated as it was raised and tied into the building. Plenty of work lies ahead, but the facility will house 450 first-year students in the fall of 2025.

While the new 450-bed facility will not completely address the community-wide shortage, it will add to options for students looking to live on campus. The building is designed to intentionally foster community among residents and provide a connection to the river, the outdoors and the greater Boise community. The new residence hall will have three wings, two with six stories and one with five.
