The College of Innovation and Design was recognized as one of the “Blue Turf Thinkers” during the Sept. 21 football game. The series highlights innovative, trailblazing academic programs during halftime at every home game.

Boise State’s drone operations certificate prepares students to work in industries from photography to videography to scientific data collection, bridging art, science and technical know-how. Students in the program learn flight skills, design and complete their own projects, and get licensed as drone pilots.

Megan Cattau, director of the drone operations certificate, and instructors Manuel Gómez-Navarro, Thomas Van Der Weide and Trevor Caughlin were joined by current graduate students in the program Sky Gennette, Jerry Mock and Teuku Zaldiansyah.
