Opioid overdose prevention and response training Sept. 24

Know how to help someone suspected of overdosing on opioids? Wellness Services is hosting a free interactive training to provide the knowledge and confidence needed to respond to a known or suspected opioid overdose emergency. The training will be from noon to 1 p.m. on Sept. 24 in Room 114 of the Norco Building.

Participants attending the training will:

  • Learn how to prevent, recognize and respond to an opioid overdose, including the administration of two forms of naloxone.
  • Gain an understanding of Idaho’s Good Samaritan Law.
  • Learn where to access naloxone, other overdose prevention tools and recovery support services.

This free training is designed for all community members, including students/faculty/staff, bystanders, first responders and support services professionals. The training content and format will be tailored to meet the needs of the participants.
