Celebrate payroll week Sept. 2-6

The Human Resources and Workforce Strategy (HR) team is celebrating the joyful “we just got paid” feeling during national payroll week Sept. 2-6. The week honors payroll professionals who ensure the timely and accurate delivery of paychecks. At Boise State, HR ensures that more than 6,000 employees receive regular paychecks.

The HR operations team, which includes payroll, benefits, processing and finance, often work late hours when the university is closed or during holidays so that every employee is paid on time. They are also responsible for withholding income and other taxes, deducting for employee benefits and issuing payments.

“The operations team are the unsung heroes who work to ensure that Boise State employees are paid accurately,” said Agnes Stepek, deputy chief human resources officer. “National payroll week provides an opportunity to extend appreciation for all their hard work and dedication.”

To celebrate the HR operations team, consider sending a note of thanks to the team at hrs@boisestate.edu or to an individual colleague through Thank a Bronco.
