ChatGPT Edu, an education edition of ChatGPT, is available for Boise State University faculty and staff, the Office of Information Technology announced.
Unlike consumer ChatGPT subscriptions, ChatGPT Edu includes data segmentation protections approved by OIT and contract provisions approved by the Office of General Counsel.
A limited number of subscriptions are available. To request a ChatGPT Edu license, use the link on the AI in Education website.
As a reminder, Google Gemini is the primary conversational AI tool for campus use. Faculty, staff and students all have access to Gemini through the Google Workspace app launcher.
Additionally, Gemini for Google Workspace will be implemented soon. This version of Gemini is built right into Gmail, Docs and Sheets to help save time and be more productive. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
