Beta Alpha Psi seeks volunteers for Feed the Funnel on Sept. 20

Boise State’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, an international honor society for accounting, finance and information students, will hold their third annual “Feed The Funnel” event on Sept. 20 from 1:30-4 p.m. to help address food insecurity. And they’re seeking volunteers to help make the event a success.

Volunteering is just a two-and-a-half hour commitment, which will be spent packing shelf-stable meals for local food banks. According to Beta Alpha Psi’s event fundraising website, a staggering 10% of families and 14% of children in the Treasure Valley face food insecurity. Last year, volunteers packed 100,000 meals, which were donated to 24 regional food banks including Boise State’s Campus Food Pantry.

This year, Beta Alpha Psi raised $40,000 and hopes to pack over 100,000 meals with the help of 275 volunteers. The event will take place at Extra Mile Arena, and Beta Alpha Psi requests that volunteers sign up in advance through the event registration link.
