Boise State adjusted the dates of the upcoming winter break university closures, which is now Dec. 24, 2024, to Jan. 1, 2025. Previous closures were scheduled for Dec. 23-29 and Dec. 31 to Jan. 1, 2025. These dates were shifted to avoid the university being open for one day during the break.
“It made sense to adjust the holiday schedule to ensure employees could extend time with their families and buildings didn’t have to reopen for just one day,” said Bill Brady, chief human resources officer of human resources and workforce strategy.
Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1 are paid holidays for benefit-eligible employees. Classified and professional staff who do not work during the break will need to record vacation leave for the three days that are not official holidays.
With winter break only a few months away, employees are advised to check their leave balances and ensure they have enough leave to cover upcoming holiday closures. For more details, visit the payroll website.
