Alicia Estey, chief financial and operating officer, recently appointed Tana Monroe as the new associate vice president of the Department of Public Safety. Monroe succeeds Jon Uda who retired after a distinguished career at the university.
Monroe has been a part of the campus community since 2010, serving in key positions as the university’s Clery compliance officer and as a member of the CARE Team.
In her new capacity, Monroe will oversee a comprehensive range of public safety units, including security and police services, parking and transportation, and emergency management. Her goal is to build upon the department’s strong foundation and build relationships with students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community to foster trust and cooperation, she said.
Monroe holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Boise State and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.
