Guido Giuntini, adjunct faculty in the Department of Economics, collaborated with Aida Popovic of the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts and Steven Peterson of the University of Idaho to conduct an economic impact study quantifying the impact of the Morrison Center on the local economy in fiscal year 2023.

The impacts include:

  • Nearly 160,000 people attended events at the Morrison Center
  • Morrison Center activities contributed around $32 million to the local economy, $11 million in payroll and benefits, and supported approximately 295 jobs (full-time and part-time)
  • Over $700,000 in local taxes and almost $1.5 million in state taxes were generated from Morrison Center events
