Human Resources shares this year’s employee benefit changes

Regence BlueShield of Idaho now serves Boise State benefit-eligible employees for medical, pharmacy and vision benefits as of July 1. Dental benefits remain with Blue Cross of Idaho. A few things to expect for the coming benefit fiscal year – July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025 – are highlighted below.

Regence BlueShield of Idaho

Regence and the Office of Group Insurance (OGI) provide benefit information along with a welcome video. To gain a basic understanding of benefits, visit the OGI website to locate benefit plan comparisons, a video lunch-and-learn, and presentation slides.

Member IDs

Regence member ID cards were mailed to employees at the end of June. If a card was not received, contact Regence Customer Service at 1-800-854-5585.

Once an ID card is received, create an account at Regence.com. Members can search for providers and pharmacies, view claims and access additional benefits using the Regence member portal. Some information in profiles may appear blank until benefits begin to be utilized.

Pharmacy Benefits

Regence provides a six-tier drug list, sometimes called a formulary. Review the six-tier formulary flier.

Specialty pharmacy and prescription services have transitioned, and members should now work with Accredo or AllianceRx Walgreen’s Pharmacy for specialty pharmacy needs.

More information is available on OGI’s prescription drug website.

Vision Benefits

Vision benefits are included with medical coverage. Regence partners with VSP Vision Care to offer adult and pediatric vision coverage. Use the Regence member ID card to access your vision benefits.

Health and Wellness Programs

Regence includes several low or zero-cost health and wellness programs for members. Review the Regence vendor flier for a summary of the programs and their benefits.

Dental Coverage

Dental coverage will continue with Blue Cross of Idaho. New dental cards will be issued in July, so keep current cards until a new one is received.

Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) continue with Navia in FY2025. As a reminder, only those enrolled in the high-deductible health plan are eligible for the HSA while any employees, regardless of whether they enroll in benefits, can take advantage of the FSA. More details are available on the OGI website under the HSA and FSA tab.

Review Payslips

Due to recent changes in benefit contributions, employees are encouraged to review their payslips to verify the accuracy of benefits. Use the view payslips in Bronco Hub job aid.
