Sydney Montgomery, director of student and recent graduate programs, received the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s 2024 Circle of Excellence Award. It is the premier recognition program for the advancement sector.
More than 4,200 members in 28 countries applied this year with hundreds of judges reviewing their entries. As stated on its website, “The awards recognize exceptional achievement in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing. These are the creative, inspiring projects that impact institutions and their communities – and transform lives around the globe.”
Montgomery was selected for her Student Philanthropy Board Grant Program, which creates a culture of giving and involvement throughout the Boise State student body and raises $25,000 in grant money to support the philanthropic efforts of various student organizations and individuals.
“Boise State University’s Student Philanthropy Board certainly met their goal to cultivate a culture and awareness of philanthropy on campus,” the judges stated. “With students able to have a firsthand experience in the success of philanthropic dollars making a difference on campus, this ambitious ‘grant program’ showed a great example of how to strengthen a students’ affinity for giving to their university.”
