School of Public and Population Health Professor Kimberly Rauscher was recently quoted in an article from the Wall Street Journal titled “The Surge in Young Workers Has a Dark Side: Sexual Harassment of Teens on the Job.”
The article highlights the rising number of sexual harassment allegations and anecdotes from teenagers in the workplace. A leader in occupational health and safety research, Rauscher discussed the feelings of helplessness and powerlessness teens can feel when facing unsafe work environments. The article quotes Rauscher as saying teens often “don’t know they have a right to say, ‘This isn’t OK.’”
Rauscher leads the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences emphasis in the School of Public and Population Health. Learn more about Kimberly’s research on adolescent workers in the U.S. here.
