Boise State’s Department of Mathematics celebrated Pi Day, March 14, earlier this month in the Quad. The unofficial holiday, named for its resemblance to the first three digits of the number pi (3.14), attracted a large gathering of students, faculty and staff and featured pizza, t-shirts and academic advice.

Students learned how different math courses might fit into their educational paths, and how the department could support their academic and professional goals. They also had the opportunity to meet math instructors for the fall 2024 semester.

Math faculty present at the event estimate that about 60 students participated and earned a math-themed t-shirt. those who did not attend can still find out how the department can support thier academic journeys. Math majors and non-majors of all levels can contact the front office at mathoffice@boisestate.edu to schedule an advising appointment.
