Project Scientia, a National Science Foundation supported research team that makes science accessible to Spanish-speakers, was featured by Public News Service on March 11, 2024. Team members include: biology professor Jen Forbey, assistant professor of Spanish Carolina Viera, world languages faculty Fatima Cornwall, associate professor of Spanish Kelly Arispe, and Ecology Evolution and Behavior doctoral students Cristina Barber and Carlos G. Linares.
“There is a huge population in Idaho, there is also a population in the world, that doesn’t actually speak English. So, there is a gap there of communicating science and scientific research only in English,” Viera said in the article.
