Tomás Baiza, director of the Advising and Academic Support Center, was recently featured in The Good Life Review’s “Best Of” anthology. Baiza’s flash-fiction story, “Extra Large for the Lord,” originally appeared in the journal’s inaugural issue and was later nominated for the 2020 Pushcart Prize in literature.
“I’m particularly fond of this story because it draws heavily on an actual incident at one of my terrible high-school jobs,” Baiza said. “I’ve always loved those moments when people are overwhelmed by a sense of wonder, and that definitely happened one busy Friday night in a rundown pizza parlor.”
Baiza’s story was included in his 2023 collection, “A Purpose to Our Savagery”, and can be read at The Good Life Review’s “Best of” issue.
