On Tuesday, Jan. 23, the Office of Information Technology will upgrade the GlobalProtect virtual private network (VPN) client.
The first time a user connects to the VPN on or after Tuesday, the GlobalProtect software will automatically upgrade. During the upgrade, several windows will pop up momentarily and then close. The update may take several minutes to install, depending on the speed of the user’s connection.
The client will disconnect the VPN session when the upgrade is complete, but it will automatically reconnect. A user’s Boise State username and password will be used to connect to the updated client when the login screen reappears.
Users will be asked to agree to the terms of use once the VPN connection is established. This step will now be required each time when connecting to the VPN.
