The Institute for Inclusive and Transformative Scholarship has opened applications for the Spring 2024 Higher Education Research Council (HERC) Fellowship and the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA) Grant. Applications close Nov. 17, 2023.
Both programs are paid, 10-week research experiences that provide students the opportunity to conduct research or pursue a creative project under the supervision of a faculty mentor. Students are able to deep dive into a research area and present their work at a conference. For faculty, it is an opportunity to work closely with, and mentor an undergraduate student. While the HERC fellowship is open to all STEM majors, including students in natural sciences, social sciences, and health sciences; the URCA grant is geared towards students in the humanities and the creative arts. Boise State undergraduate students that plan to pursue research or a creative project during spring 2024 are eligible to apply.
Faculty are encouraged to share these opportunities with undergraduate students (supervising faculty must fill out a form along with the student form).
The HERC Fellowship is funded by the Idaho State Board of Education while URCA is funded by the Division of Research and Economic Development.
