Books in Every Home project raising funds to buy books for children in need

The Books in Every Home project has taught teamwork, leadership and project management skills to Boise State students from four different undergraduate colleges and the graduate college, and given thousands of new and gently used books to Boise families since it began in the fall of 2017. The group has partnered with Title I schools, the Idaho Food Bank, CATCH, Book It Forward Idaho, the Learning Lab and other community organizations in this time.

This fall, students in Professor Tara Penry’s Children’s and Young Adult Literature class and students in the Vertically Integrated Project Books in Every Home, co-taught by Penry and Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Literacy, Language and Culture, Eun Hye Son, are teaming up to buy books for elementary class visits in the Boise School District.

The Boise State students have created a PonyUp website to collect donations through Oct. 19. Donations of any size are welcome and appreciated.
