Sam Dores, director of business business operations, strategy and development for the ExtraMile Arena is now a Certified Venue Executive, the International Association of Venue Managers announced. Dores’ new designation was recognized during the International Association of Venue Managers annual conference, VenueConnect 2023.
According to the the International Association of Venue Managers’ website, the Certified Venue Executive program began in 1976 to recognize excellence in the professional development and competence of managers of public assembly facilities. The purpose of the voluntary certification program is to provide additional incentive for professional improvement in public assembly facility management, to assure recognition for those who attain certain specific standards, and to lead toward development of a full professional status in the field of public assembly facility management.
Dores completed a detailed application, an essay, and written and oral examinations to earn the certification. He is now certified for three years and can renew the designation by exhibiting a dedication to professional development and continuing education in the industry.
