Danielle Charters has been named Assistant Vice President for Title IX, Institutional Equity and Compliance, Alicia Estey, Chief Financial and Operating Officer, announced. In her new role, Charters will oversee the offices of Title IX and Institutional Equity as well as Institutional Compliance and Ethics. The Office of Title IX and Institutional Equity receives and investigates all reports of protected class harassment and discrimination (including Title IX), university policy violations, and reports of fraud, waste and abuse. In cases of fraud, waste or abuse, the office will continue to work closely with the State Board of Education’s internal audit unit.
The Office of Institutional Compliance and Ethics coordinates compliance oversight, monitoring and reporting at the institutional level, including enhancing coordination, efficiency and effectiveness of compliance activities, monitoring the minors on campus program, ADA compliance, Section 117 reporting, and promoting a culture of accountability and integrity. By overseeing both offices, Charters will streamline processes and reporting to university leadership while working to ensure the university is meeting compliance related policy, regulatory and statutory obligations.
Charters has worked at Boise State since 2012 in various compliance roles including her most recent role as the Director of the Office of Title IX and Institutional Equity and Title IX Coordinator. Charters also has extensive experience in NCAA compliance from prior roles at Boise State and Washington State University.
Charters earned her Bachelor of Science in Communications from Washington State University and Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho, College of Law.
