With football season on the horizon, the university is finalizing details for Homecoming and Parent & Family Weekend from Oct. 2-8. The week-long festivities will include events and activities open to everyone including alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and families of Boise State students, and the community at large, culminating with the Boise State football team hosting San José State at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7 on the Blue at Albertsons Stadium.
Included among the activities for the week is the annual homecoming parade Friday, Oct. 6. The procession of blue and orange will be directly followed by a pep rally at DeChevrieux Field, when fans can join with coaches and athletes in celebration. Fans can also nominate a person to be the parade grand marshal or enter a float into the parade.
Other events include the Distinguished Alumni Awards Gala, a Parent & Family tailgate before the game and Bronco spirit contests. Homecoming week will also bring groups recognizing anniversaries and reunions to campus with events being added as they are scheduled. The Homecoming website has a growing list of activities, as well as details about how to purchase tickets and participate.
Tickets for the football game are available beginning Tuesday, July 25 at BroncoSports.com/tickets.
