Boise State has named Jennifer White the new Assistant Vice President for Finance and Operations and Senior Counsel for Government Relations.
In her new role, White will oversee strategic and process initiatives for the Finance and Operations division, while continuing to advise the president and executive leadership on legal matters and represent the university in legal proceedings.
White joined Boise State as Associate General Counsel, Special Counsel for Government Relations in January, 2023. Before joining the university, she was Deputy General Counsel and, previously, Associate General Counsel at Total Wine & More, the largest privately-held alcohol retailer in the U.S. In these positions she provided legal advice on all types of matters, including employee relations, litigation, regulations, contracts and more. Her past roles include litigator at a District of Columbia law firm and an insurance defense firm. She has also worked for Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne and Lieutenant Governor James Risch.
White is an Idaho native, graduating from Vallivue High School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Sociology from Willamette University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law.
