
Brian Wampler, the president’s professor of public scholarship and engagement, published an article in the January 2023 issue of American Political Science Review. Co-authored with Michael Touchton of the University of Miami, “Participation, Development, and Accountability: A Survey Experiment on Democratic Decision-Making in Kenya” examines whether participatory institutions expand accountability in environments where participatory democracy efforts are faced with limited resources, weak civil society, and a history of authoritarian politics.
