Summer workshops, payroll and benefits updates for employees

Human Resource Services is offering a number of free workshops and professional development opportunities for Boise State employees throughout the summer. Other updates from the department are listed below.

Benefits and payroll updates

Benefit Deductions for FY23

For those who have health benefits through Boise State, payroll deductions may have changed. Premiums are deducted one month in advance, so July 1 deductions will affect June paychecks.

Comp Time Rollover Payout

Compensatory time earned July 1 through Dec. 31, 2021, and not used by June 11, 2022, will be paid out on the July 8 paycheck. The hours will be paid at the rate of pay as of June 11.

New On-Call Policy

Effective June 12, the accrual rate for on-call hours has changed. The new rates for on-call time for overtime-eligible employees are: five hours for five consecutive weekday nights (Monday – Friday) and two hours for each one hour for each full 24-hour weekend day or holiday.

Effective Dates for Change in Employee Compensation (CEC) Pay Increases

  • June 12: classified staff CEC effective date, pay date July 8
  • June 26: professional staff CEC effective date, pay date July 22
  • July 24: faculty CEC effective date, pay date August 19

Workshops and trainings

Retirement Planning Workshop on July 12

Join a retirement planning workshop on July 12. The workshop will cover what to consider when retiring from Boise State and the benefits available after retirement.

Summer Professional Development Classes

Learn and Grow free summer professional development classes are available. Links for topics will direct you to the registration page. Learn more about marketing your department on July 13 and time management and goal setting on August 24.
