Tasha Souza, director of the BUILD program, will depart from Boise State this summer to serve as Vice Provost for Faculty Success at Sacramento State University. The campus community is invited to a reception from 3-4:30. p.m. Wednesday, June 1 on the Student Union Building patio to celebrate Souza.
“Tasha has had an amazing impact on Boise State faculty and staff, through both her support for effective teaching in the Center for Teaching and Learning and her work in supporting a more inclusive campus for students and colleagues through the BUILD program. Especially within Academic Affairs, Tasha’s expertise and guidance have deepened our knowledge and commitment in ways that have mattered to our students and our colleagues,” said Susan Shadle, vice provost for undergraduate studies.
Souza came to Boise State in 2015 to serve as the associate director of the Center for Teaching and Learning. Souza launched the BUILD certificate program and became the inaugural director of the program in 2020. The program has served over 620 faculty and staff to engage in learning about inclusive practice. Souza has continued to offer stewardship of the BUILD certificate, along with an array of services and programs, including campus dialogues and support for inclusive hiring.
