Ewing returned to Boise State in 2020 and established a framework for an integrated advancement model and vision to create the best culture of philanthropy and alumni engagement of any public university in the country.
Previously, he served as the vice president for development and alumni engagement at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and CEO of the Cal Poly Foundation. His responsibilities included spearheading the university’s second comprehensive campaign, which raised more than $832 million, the largest fundraising campaign in Cal Poly and Cal State University history. He also established a strengthened culture of accountability, transparency, and teamwork in the university’s fundraising and alumni engagement efforts.
But, he is familiar with the Boise State campus and community, having served as the associate vice president for development. In this role, Ewing led fundraising for the university’s top philanthropic priorities, including a three-year scholarship campaign that raised over $52.2 million – more than twice the campaign’s goal. Before joining Boise State, Ewing spent eight years in various leadership and fundraising roles for the Indiana University Foundation.
This session with Ewing is the second in a monthly series of campus updates with leadership
