Michal Temkin Martinez, professor of linguistics, recently participated in the annual meeting of the Linguistic Society of America.
In addition to co-facilitating the “How to LSA” session with Alicia Parrish (New York University), Temkin Martinez co-taught a mini-course on “Thriving as an Early Career Faculty Member” and co-organized a symposium on “Small Teaching Toward Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Linguistics” with longtime collaborator Kazuko Hiramatsu (University of Michigan, Flint).
Members of a Faculty Learning Community presented the symposium which Hiramatsu and Temkin Martinez have been co-facilitating since Fall 2019 and whose focus is on capacity building for scholarly teaching and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in linguistics.
