Ruth Jebe, an associate professor in the Department of Management, had her article, “The U.S. Plastics Problem: The Road to Circularity,” published in the Environmental Law Reporter.
Jebe’s article examines activity and regulation around plastics in the wake of Chinese waste import policies that disrupted global plastic waste supply chains. The article critiques the regulatory and academic focus on plastic as solely a waste problem. Instead, Jebe argues that effective regulation of plastics requires a full life cycle approach and reviews the likelihood of pending U.S. legislation, the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act, to address the plastics problem in the U.S.
