Operation WishBook is a non-profit organization started over 20 years ago by retired teachers who wanted to place new books in the hands of children who do not own books. The books are collected in the month of November and distributed to children in December through the Salvation Army.
Albertsons Library started collecting new books for this organization in 1994. Over the years, a total of 3,032 new books have been collected to help spread literacy throughout the Boise Valley.
This year, Albertsons Library staff and faculty are inviting the campus community to join the effort. The collection period for donations of new books is from Nov. 1 to Dec. 3. Donors can drop books at the library’s circulation desk, or call Pam Kindelberger (208-426-3827), or email Operation Wish Book (operation-wish-book-group@boisestate.edu).
