The Division of Research and Economic Development, in partnership with the Center for Advanced Energy Studies and the College of Engineering, will present a webinar on the University Nuclear Leadership Program (UNLP) at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9.
The UNLP seeks to attract qualified nuclear science and engineering students to nuclear energy professions through undergraduate scholarship and graduate fellowship opportunities. Scholarships provide $10,000 for one year. Graduate students awarded fellowships receive $161,000 over three years, which includes an annual stipend of $37,000.
The webinar includes an overview of the program, eligibility requirements, and the application process. In addition, previous and current UNLP scholarship and fellowship awardees will share their approach in putting together a competitive application. The Writing Center will also provide an overview of support and resources available to students applying to the UNLP opportunities.
Undergraduate students pursuing a degree, minor, or certificate in a nuclear energy-related discipline and early-career graduate students in a nuclear energy-related discipline whose proposed research aligns to the Department of Energy, Office of Nuclear Energy mission should consider attending.
