Kat Davis has been promoted to the role of sustainability director, effective Oct. 17. Davis has served as the sustainability coordinator and environmental compliance specialist since 2017. In her new role, Davis will oversee the sustainability office and help integrate campus planning, projects, and operations with academic programs, student and faculty research, civic engagement initiatives, and community outreach focused on sustainability. She will also continue to serve on the Sustainability Governance Council, which recently completed its first reporting cycling, earning the university a silver rating from AASHE using their STARS reporting system.
A new position at the university, the sustainability director is responsible for fostering a culture of sustainability on campus by identifying, coordinating, and serving as a catalyst for those implementing sustainability programs. To learn more, visit the sustainability office’s website.
