Max Davis-Johnson, associate vice president, and chief information officer in the Office of Information Technology, co-presented “Digital Transformation in a Time of Uncertainty” in a Sept. 14 webinar sponsored by EDUCAUSE.
Co-presenting with Jon Allan of Baylor University and Jeff Haynes of Baker Tilly, Davis-Johnson discussed Boise State’s experience launching digital transformation.
Digital transformation consists of a series of deep and coordinated culture, workforce, and technology shifts enabling new educational and operating models that transform operations and strategic direction.
Sharing stories of the good, the bad, and the ugly, Davis-Johnson also discussed how digital transformation must align with other technology initiatives undertaken by institutions, and presented a shared vision that assesses functionality and analyzes potential gaps, manages organizational change, and addresses the evolving roles of information technology, finance, and human resources when digital transformation is implemented.
