Boise Entrepreneur Week is Idaho’s largest community-driven, entrepreneur-focused event. Each year, thousands of people come together to learn, support and celebrate the state’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. Finalists from the recent Hacking for Homebuilding and Cybersecurity Entrepreneur Challenge competitions will compete for cash prizes during the hybrid event, which begins on Oct. 18.
A total of 20 teams from Boise State and Venture College programs will be pitching in this year’s event. That list includes the following:
- Crib Coaching, founded by Jill and Justin Bertelsen (Venture College incubator alumni and grant recipients)
- Karmik Outdoors, founded by Robert Gillingham (Venture College incubator alum and 2020 Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge product track winner)
- Cargo Made Ez, founded by Adam Stock (Venture College incubator alum and 2021 Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge final pitch competition winner)
- INFlex Labs, founded by Dave Estrada (associate professor at Boise State and associate director of Center for Advanced Energy Studies)
- Maggie, founded by Jenny Andersen (Boise State student and Venture College incubator participant)
- H2 Therapeutics founded by Jared Barrott (Summer 2021 Idaho I-Corps Ignite program participant)
- Facible Biodiognostics, founded by Steven Burden (Boise State alum), Jonathon Reeck (Boise State research assistant) and Clémentine Gibard Bohachek (former Boise State research associate)
- Chicana Foods, founded by Allison Corona (Boise State and Venture College incubator alum)
- Naughty Fruit, founded by Juan Morales (Boise State alum)
Programming throughout the event includes interviews and panels featuring a variety of Boise State constituents, such as:
- Karen Nichols (College of Business and Economics assistant professor)
- Nic Miller (Venture College executive director)
- Gordon Jones (College of Innovation and Design dean)
- Nancy Glenn (Boise State’s interim vice president of research and economic development)
- Janessa White, co-founder and CEO of Simply Eloped (Boise State alum and Venture College advisory board member)
- Hillary Xoumanivong, office and human resources assistant at Saalt (Boise State alum)
- Megan Lacy, co-founder of Lumineye (Venture College incubator participant)
- Sienna George, social impact strategist at Oliver Russell (Boise State and Venture College incubator alum)
- Alexis Rankin, founder of Chillow (2020 Boise Startup Week Pitch Competition winner and Venture College incubator alum)
