Boise State and Micron to present the first Cybersecurity Entrepreneur Challenge

The Venture College and the Institute for Pervasive Cybersecurity host the first Cybersecurity Entrepreneur Challenge Oct. 11-18, in partnership by Micron and Boise State. The competition is open to all higher education students in Idaho.

Participants will choose a problem statement provided by industry partners Micron, Idaho Central Credit Union, HERE.com and PlexTrac., and form interdisciplinary teams to propose solutions. Teams will compete for $30,000+ in cash prizes as they solve cybersecurity challenges. At the same time, they will build a viable venture for themselves and establish helpful connections with mentors and industry leaders.

The Venture College will lead participants through a week-long sprint to test, validate and launch their venture. Teams will work with industry experts, business leaders and mentors who will help them craft their ventures and pitches. The top three finalists will pitch their ideas during Boise Entrepreneur Week beginning on Oct. 18.

Registration is open now and closes at 5 p.m. (Mountain Time) on Sunday, Oct. 10. Find more information about the competition on the competition webpage.
